Companies House leads: incorporations and registered office changes as B2B signals
Companies House publishes every incorporation, every registered office change and every officer appointment the day it is filed, free, with an API. A company moving its registered office into a commercial address in your area is a new occupier, and a new occupier lets every contract at once.

What the record is
Every UK company files with Companies House on incorporation and whenever something changes: its registered office, its officers, its accounts, its charges. The register is public and free, searchable by name, number, address and SIC code, with an API and a streaming feed of changes.
For field service trades two events matter. A new incorporation with a trading SIC code and a commercial registered office is a business starting in your area. A registered office change to a commercial address in your postcodes is an existing business moving in, which is the stronger signal, because it has staff, budget and a fit-out.
The register names the company and its officers, not the facilities lead. Matching the address to a commercial unit, confirming the move against a planning record or a fit-out where one exists, and verifying the director's or office manager's email is what turns the filing into a lead.
Where it is published
- Companies House register and API. Incorporations, registered office changes, officer appointments, charges and filings, published daily and free.
- SIC codes. The activity classification on every company, used to filter for occupiers that need premises: offices, retail, hospitality, logistics, care, manufacturing.
- Postcode matching. Registered office addresses matched to commercial units and to the planning and fit-out records on the same address.
Which trades it predicts
The same record means different work to different trades. Each card links to the leads page for that trade.
Timing: when to reach out
The first sixty days after the filing. A company that has moved its registered office has usually moved its people in the same month, and the contracts it lets in that window run for years. New incorporations take longer to need premises; we filter them by SIC code and registered office type so you are not calling accountants' brass plates.
Companies House leads: questions
Is Companies House data free to use for lead generation?
The register is public and free, including the API, and it names companies and their officers. Using it to contact a company about its premises is ordinary B2B marketing; for your outreach you are the controller under UK GDPR and PECR applies to how you contact people. We deliver corporate contacts and label anything unproven.
How do you avoid registered office addresses that are just an accountant?
By matching the address to a real commercial unit and to other records on it: a planning consent, a fit-out, a premises licence, a food hygiene registration. A registered office at a serviced-address provider is filtered out. A change to an address with a fit-out on it is a move.
Which trades get the most from Companies House?
Commercial cleaning, security, fire protection and electrical, because a new occupier lets those contracts at once. It runs alongside the planning register on every UK plan rather than as a separate product.
